Style Sheet.

Pitch.

My magazine is a music magazine aimed at teenage girls aged between 16-21. Readers are likely to be working class and have interest in the latest boy bands, their music and their fashion. My magazine will look into the pop music of a specific band in more depth, with an interview of their career plans and further releases. It will have a simple style layout, with more variety of photographs on the page than text. In order to keep the magazine simple, yet interesting and to the point. The main font will be easy to read with no fancy effect, however still quite feminine. Where the title and cover lines will use font that is bold and stand out, as to catch the readers attention. The double page spread will show an interview with the latest boy band/singer and will discuss a new album and possibly a tour. The interview will be supported by photographs and facts about the star, letting readers get to know their favourite celebrity in more depth.

Plan for my magazine.

Colour scheme
The kind of colour scheme I should use in my magazine is:

The colour scheme I would like for my magazine is pink and blacks. I think this will be more appropriate for my target audience because it is more likely that girls will be interested in pop. Not only this but they are colours that will stand out and attract the audience.

Photography
The kinds of photography I should use in my magazine are:

The kinds of photos I want to use are real images from real performance and gigs. Not only this but I want a close up for the front cover. I want my photos to be fun and show a happier side to the magazine, rather than keeping it serious.

Writing style
The style of writing and language I use should be:

My target audience will be teenager, so the language needs to be intellectual however still at a fun and more modern writing style, so the target audience enjoy reading it.

Overall look
The overall look of my magazine should be:

The magazine should use bright colours and should look like it is full of pop music. It should make the audience want to stop and read because hopefully it will be eye catching.

Text/picture ratio
The text to picture ratio I use in my magazine should be:

There should be a high majority of photographs to give the readers something interesting to look at, however a good some of writing will be needed on the double page spread.

Fonts
The style of fonts I should use in my magazine should be:

Eye catching fonts for pages where the text needs to stand out and be seen. The rest of the font will be simple and complex.

College Magazine.

This is the front cover page for a magazine that would be put around York college. The main image is a medium shot of one of the students who attend the college. It connects with the audience because it is someone of the same age, learning at the same place, meaning they can connect with it.
The title is in bold and centered at the top of the page as to stand out and attract the attention of the intended audience.
The taglines along the side tell the audience what they can expect to find if they purcase the magazine. Although the majority of the writing is white, the overall colour shceme is pink and blue. This is carried on in the contents page. The white bold writing catches the eye of it's audience and stands our against the plain background to be seen as important.
The contents page also uses the colours pink and blue continuing the overall theme of the magazine. The contents page has three images along the left hand side of the page. All images reflect an aspect of college, with the bottom one being from York College itself. The right hand side shows the tag lines with what the audience can expect to find on each page. The font is simple, bold and clear so it is easy and quick to read. Short, simple and straight to the point.
